Vinyasa Yoga (All Levels)

This practice is for everyone. It is suitable for all levels, whether you are a beginner and trying to figure out who the up and down dog is, or you are an advanced yogi who can put both feet behind his head.

There are different variations of "asana" positions depending on your level. Different for beginners, different for intermediates and different for advanced practices.

(For old students: Same lesson as we did previously in Akrida)

Hatha Yoga

We learn how to use the yoga postures (asanas), the breathing exercises (pranayama) and the philosophy that the practice of Hatha Yoga has to offer. Our goal is the balance between empowerment and flexibility. As well as the exploration of the human body and infinite possibilities, but also the correlation of the emotions of the thoughts and the body.

Rocket

A fun and vigorous vinyasa flow, thought to be the original power yoga. Created by Larry Shultz, the Rocket system is a remix of the Astanga Primary and Intermediate Series, designed to make the practice accessible to all and ‘get you there faster’! Come Rock-et!

Sweat out your worries and cares as you link movement and breath while strengthening your body. Awaken your abs, improve your flexibility and fitness while flowing with the music into a state of calm and clarity!

Modifications will be offered throughout making this fun class, full of classical poses, accessible to all!

Yoga Inversions (Level 1 & 2)

Goal of the lesson is to practice handstands and up side down positions while breathing.

Come and observe how our mind reacts to these unusual positions, but also how we react emotionally when we look at things from a different perspective!

The aim of the lesson is to deepen the existing practice and isolate handstands and inversions.

We will examine each pose separately and learn the mechanics of balancing on the hands, head and forearms. Emphasis will be placed on strengthening the core, arms and shoulders.

Especially for those who think "the vertical" is impossible to achieve, embrace your ability to fall and conquer fear.

These classes are for seasoned professionals, superheroes, and those who try new things without the fear of failure.

Gentle

Restorative movement for all ages and body shapes!

Gentle practice with breathing techniques. The body regains flexibility and strength. The mind is rejuvenated and reflexes, mobility, sense of balance and stability are improved. Suitable for those who have problems with the back, knees, hips and neck, but also for those returning to exercise after injuries.

Pilates

Our fun Pilates classes will awaken muscles you didn’t know you had! A beautiful method in itself as well as a great complement to your yoga practice. The six basic principles of the method are:

  • Stabilization
  • Control
  • Concentration
  • Movement Flow
  • Breathing
  • Accuracy in movement

At Pilates, we aim to strengthen the "Powerhouse", as Joseph Pilates himself called it. That is, the abdominal muscles, the back muscles, but also the muscles of the back and hips.

We learn to synchronize our mind, breath and body to have a perfect motor result, full of flow and without injuries.

During the course the trainee has the opportunity to improve his posture and flexibility, also detects his own bad motor habits, eliminates them and trains his body from the beginning.

Proper use of breathing helps us to strengthen our lungs, increase our endurance and eliminate stress.

After systematic practice we learn to manage our body more correctly and more consciously. Throughout the course but also in our daily life. This is really the main benefit that one can get from Pilates.

Yoga (Level 1)

A practice that is suitable for those who are quite new to yoga or those who seek a more noble practice of positions (asana). You will practice alongside those of similar ability so there is no need for nerves! No need to bring anything, just your bare feet, comfy and loose fitting clothing along with a willing attitude!

You will get to know the basic positions, their names and their alignment. You will learn breathing techniques, activating the capabilities of your body. You will increase your mobility and build self-confidence.

Dharma

Dharma Yoga is a modern interpretation of classical Eight-limbed or Hatha-Raja Yoga, deeply rooted in ethical precepts that includes elements of flowing Vinyasa, inversions and held poses that will help you to discover concentration, meditation, abiding contentedness and deep healing relaxation. Dharma Yoga was created by Sri Dharma Mittra in 1975. The physical posture practice (Asana) tones and invigorates the body and mind, leading to enhanced flexibility, strength, balance and concentration. Breathing exercises (pranayama) and meditative techniques regulate the heartbeat, de-stress the nervous system and calm the mind. Guided deep healing relaxation or Yoga Nidra relieves stress, slows down the thoughts, calms the mind and recharges one’s physical body. A complete practice that will lead to radiant health, a peaceful life and, eventually self-realization. Dharma Yoga is traditional, yet contemporary — perfect for the fast-paced world of today.

Mandala Vinyasa Yoga

A playful and dynamic practice, moving 360 degrees around the mat, softly flowing through strong poses and inversions to the rhythm of the breath. The sequences are designed to target specific areas of the body corresponding to the element, and related chakra. The class will begin and close and with yin postures to compliment the subtle and physical body.

Jivamukti

The Jivamukti Yoga method is a proprietary style of yoga created by David Life and Sharon Gannon in 1984.

Jivamukti is a physical, ethical, and spiritual practice, combining a vigorous yoga as exercise, vinyasa-based physical style with adherence to five central tenets :
  1. Shastra (Writing)
  2. Bhakti (Loyalty)
  3. Ahimsā (Non violence)
  4. Nāda (Music)
  5. Dhyana (Meditation)
It also emphasizes animal rights, veganism, environmentalism, and social activism.
